Acting Classes for Teenagers
In these classes students get introduced to elements of the M. Chekhov acting technique for screen and stage. Through a variety of acting exercises, improvisation and script work - students will discover their uniqueness and presence. Classes aimed at students from 11-16 years of age.
The program looks at the following:
Using a series of body/voice releasing exercises, students will learn to open their heart, increase awareness and deepen their perceptual skills.
They will learn to open their self to the creative process through a series of attention and imagination increasing exercises.
Script work will be used in the class to deepen student’s understanding of the written word from within and they will learn the power of the spoken word. Working with the script will also be used to learn the steps in the character creation process.
Improvisational techniques are used to acquire knowledge to build self confidence, students will learn to create deliberately and be in the moment.
All our classes provide a safe and nurturing atmosphere where teenagers can explore their individual talents, express themselves and discover the true fun of the creative process.
